Sharing your organization's mission, stories, and images with emails is a great way to connect with supporters. Your givezooks! account includes 10,000 Vertical Response email credits per month. You can import contacts from a CSV file or your favorite internet email provider like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL. You can even tag contacts to make it easier to group or find them later. Before You BeginYou can import many names and email addresses from the following sources.
You can also manually import individual names and addresses that you have in hard copy. Importing Contacts from a CSV fileGetting your file readyIf your contacts are stored in a desktop application, spreadsheet or a database, you can easily export a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. Consult the help in your application to find out how to export a CSV file. You need a file that has five (5) columns and no header. The columns are:

Importing your contactsFrom the main page of your Organization Address Book, select Import Contacts under the Quick Links menu.
Your Contacts will be displayed and you can select the ones that you want to import.
Note: Duplicate addresses will not be imported. Importing Contacts from an email ProviderSupported Email ProvidersYou can also import contacts from the most popular email providers to your givezooks! address book. Several tags can be associated to each contact and used later to target certain segments of your supporters with specific email appeals.

Distribution ListsDistribution Lists are a way to group contacts in your Organization Address Book to later use when sending out email requests. You can create a Distribution List by selecting from your Organization Address Book or by using Tag words assigned to each of your contacts. In the scheme of things, tagging your contacts is more flexible and less work to maintain - our recommendation is to use tags. Adding Distribution Lists
Adding Contacts to a Distribution ListFrom the Address Book
Check the box next to a Contact Name from the Address Book select the appropriate Distribution List from the pulldown menu. You can also select multiple contacts to drag over to a Distribution List. The number to the right of the Distribution List name is a counter. As you add contacts to the Distribution List, the counter will reflect the number of contacts in that list. From Existing Tags Drag and drop a tag from the tag cloud to the appropriate Distribution List. All of the Contacts that have that tag associated with them will be added to the Distribution List. Continue to add tags until you have your Distribution List set up as needed. The number to the right of the Distribution List name is a counter. As you add contacts to the Distribution List, the counter will reflect the number of contacts in that list.
