Using Grassroots fundraising, you can turn your supporters into fundraisers, you will first need to configure and enable grassroots fundraising.  These fundraisers can be celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or a new baby), Tributes, Illness/Diagnosis, Sporting Event or just because the supporter wants to get involved beyond donating.

 

Configuring Grassroots Fundraising

Start by  just click the “Configure Grassroots Fundraising” link on your nonprofit dashboard.

Setup ways to accept donations and configure 'Thank You' emails

First, let’s configure the types of donations that we would like to accept for your grassroots fundraisers by clicking on the “Giving” tab. For those of you who have setup a Campaign or a Wish List already, this tab should look familiar.

Simply click on the types of payment that you would like to accept, and setup a Thank You note for each type of payment.

For each Thank You note, just enter the subject and the body of the email. Notice that you can use merge fields to make each thank you note custom.

When you are done, just click the “Save” button.

Provide help text and images for your supporters who create grassroots fundraisers.

 

Prepopulating the image library will help those who create grassroots fundraisers if they do not have relevent images themselves. Of course, they can upload their own pictures or video if they want.

Promoting your Grassroots fundraising program

Now, you can configure your “Recruitment Widget”. This widget can be put on your website to help recruit new fundraisers and acknowledge existing fundraisers that are raising money on your behalf.

Simply select your colors and add some text, and your widget is ready to be placed on your website.

Finally, we are ready to “turn on” grassroots fundraisers by clicking on the “Enable Grassroots Fundraising” link.

Now your supporters are ready to start rasing money on your behalf.

Approving and Launching the Grassroots Fundraiser

When a grassroots fundraiser is submitted to you, you will receive an email asking you to view it and approve it.

Simply click on the link in the email to get to the fundraiser.

You can now view the fundraiser and make sure that it is acceptable to be released to the general public.

You can either approve it, or reject it at this juncture. If you reject it for any reason, it will be sent back to the creator with an explanation that you provide.

After you approve it by clicking the “Approve” button.

You can also 'auto-approve' all grassroots fundraisers by selecting this option on the grassroots dashboard.




At this point, the grassroots fundraiser will now be available to the general public. The author of the fundraiser will also be notified with specific instructions about how to promote the grassroots fundraiser to his/her family and friends.
